To Jackson and Katie by Mommy
I see so many things when I’m with you
As you look at the world through eyes so new
I love the way you laugh when Wilbur learns to talk
And when you growl "fee fi fo fum" when Jack climbs his beanstalk
Sometimes I forget, until I see your eyes so wide
That these stories are new to you, as we sit side by side
Even Bible stories, like Jonah and the whale
You love to sit and hear as we tell you the tale
I think I was born already grown up
But watching you play lets me make up
You pretend to be cows and you sit upside down
You sing and you dance and are always a clown
It doesn’t matter to you if your clothes don’t match
Or that you didn’t choose the best pumpkin from the patch
You’re learning and loving with each passing week
And it’s my greatest honor to get this sneak-peek
