Jackson

Seems like it's been a while since I posted about my first born. Jackson has been having such a great summer. Now that he can read, he really enjoys looking at books. He's been done with his school work for a while so he's had lots of opportunity to play outside, color, draw and occasionally get together with his friends. He's a great big brother, always helping me with the baby or reading to Katie.

He's very interested in Bible stories and will sit and listen to the Bible being read for long periods of time. His favorite story from the Bible is about Joseph. He loves God's creatures and wants to know all there is to know about animals. Everyday he asks us to "website" for information. This week he had questions like, "why do some birds have feathers but can't fly?" "why do giraffes have long necks?" "do all cows have spots?" "do all bears live in caves?" "how do cows find the right grass to eat?" "why do kangaroos hop so fast?" "are all worms ugly?" Daddy says, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

The endless questions do get tiring, but we enjoy him so much. He's a pretty easy going guy, loves to eat, will eat anything (except ketchup, he says "I can't stand it!"). He's a great helper with dinner, loves to dust and sweep, has wonderful manners and is just an all around great kid. He rarely gets into trouble these days.

And in conclusion, Jackson asked me to type, "I try to obey, especially in church, and my mommy loves me."
P.S. -- Aren't his freckles the cutest thing ever!?
