We have NO plans this weekend! Just planning to do some chores around the house and hang out together. It's still cold and it's been raining all day. Our backyard is pretty flooded. We were hoping to do some yardwork tomorrow but I think it'll be too wet.
I went grocery shopping last night. I saved about $40 in coupons! I love that!! Food Lion was having a pretty good sale with several items marked half off. I usually only shop about twice a month and the kids love it the day after I go shopping because they can choose pretty much anything for their meals. Today, they had bananas and strawberry yogurt for breakfast, Dora soup for lunch (yes, Campbells makes a Dora the Explorer chicken noodle soup with Dora shapes in it). Then for dinner I made a beef roast with potatoes and veggies. By this time next week, we'll be down to hamburger casseroles again. ;-)
They also each got 2 cookies after dinner. Jackson loves chocolate. I mean, I guess most people do, but he REALLY loves chocolate! He also really loves coke. He doesn't get it very often, mostly just when we go out to eat or something. But, he got a little taste this afternoon and was so happy. To have chocolate and coke in the same day was a REAL treat!
We are really looking forward to Thanksgiving. We're going to Nana's house this year. Just for the day since Nomie is coming to our house for a few days starting on the Friday after Thanksgiving. We're excited about going to Nana's since Great Grandma Virginia, Grandpa, Grandma Cathie and Uncles Robert, Cary and Piper will be there. We're hopeful that Angie will be there too. The kids always have such a great time at Nana's house. She gets all of her kid stuff out of the attic for them to play with. They hate to stop playing to even sit down for a meal. They just play non-stop from the time we get there until the moment we leave. Nana's house is about their favorite place on earth!
I'll probably make another Thanksgiving meal for Karen when she comes. We're still hopeful that possibly Chris can come but we haven't heard that he'll be able to make it. I'll probably just make all the traditional foods. Andrew loves pumpkin pie but for his birthday we're going to have a chocolate creme pie. Jackson will be disappointed it won't be cake. He loves birthday parties and he loves the birthday cake. He's already planning his birthday party (which isn't until Feb.) He's told me that he wants a dinosaur party and a strawberry cake and he wants to invite AbbyT (this is what he calls Abby and Timmy, siblings that go to our church), Joseph & baby 'Lil Beth (Elizabeth) and Baby Noah.
Jackson and Katie talk about Baby Noah all the time. He's a little one year old from church. He comes over to play at our house every couple of weeks. He can't quite walk yet but does alot of cruising around the furniture. So, Jackson and Katie play this game that they call, "baby noah" which is crawling around the coffee table about 100 times and then pulling up on all the furniture. What fun! I was reading the story of Noah's ark to the children the other day and the little picture book has a picture of Noah in it. They both kept telling me that the picture isn't Noah because Noah is a baby. So, I had to explain that Baby Noah from church was named after the Noah in the bible. I don't think they get it.
