Kindergarten time

We're starting school here in just about a week. We're all very excited about it, especially Jackson.

We're hopeful that Katie will be able to do K this year right along with Jackson. She just turned 4, so if not, we'll just repeat K next year.

My curriculum is here and I've got everything I need. I still need to do a little more copying and preparing, but we're almost ready.

I did a K evaluation to test the kids' readiness and they both did very well. Jackson scored a 92 and Katie scored a 71.

Evaulation

* 65-up Begin now! Capitalize on your child's superior motivation and readiness.
* 58-64 Congratulations - You are ready for Kindergarten!
* 48-57 Proceed with K, adjusting the pace to accommodate student's maturation.
* 47-below Wait a few months, working on skills.

Katie scored the best in language. She was 8 points higher than the goal for K readiness. She scored her lowest number of points in interest. Although it was still 2 points higher than the goal.

Jackson scored the highest available in interest and only lost one point in language. Sometimes when asked his full name he'll say Christopher Jackson Myers, instead of Jackson Christopher Myers. His lowest score was in motor skills (he lost a couple of points because he can't skip) although he still was 3 points above the goal for K readiness for that skill group.
