Our weekend and Crafts...

Katie was sick again on Sat. night so we didn't get to go to church. Andrew took Jackson. Katie was disappointed to have to stay home, especially since she was pretty much fine by morning...but we didn't want to potentially spread anything around.

Sat. we went to some friends' house in Staunton, VA...about 2 hours away from us. It was a beautiful drive and it snowed. They live in a really cute house in the mountains. They have a great view from their back deck!

I just heard this morning that my friend had her baby! They names him Thomas. Jackson and Katie will be very excited to know that they have a new friend! Thomas joins big sister Elizabeth (not quiet 2) and big brother Joseph (3).

I finished Nana's pillow in time for her birthday in a couple of weeks. It's all cross stich and embroidery on the front. It was actually going to be a wall hanging but I decided at the last minute to turn it into a pillow. I think it turned out really cute...and I almost hate to give it up! I'm going to do a Valentines' Day quilted pillow next. I've been doing alot of quilting lately, but I think I'm going to break out my sewing maching this time. All the piecing together just takes too long by hand. I made a quilted pillow and blanket for Katie's dolls. She loves it. It was really just for practice since I'm still learning.

I've also taught myself how to knit. So far, I'm not that great at it. I'm going to make some dishcloths for practice before I venture anything that requires a little more talent than I currently have.

The library is starting a knitting group. I'm still thinking about whether I want to join or not. I suggested that they combine the knitting group with their family movie night so that the kids can watch the movie and not distract the grown-ups. I don't know if they'll go for my suggestion! The kids do love family movie night. The librarians make pop corn for everyone. Last time we went they showed Bedknobs and Broomsticks and next Monday they're showing Snow Dogs.
